TOWN BOARD KEY ACHIEVEMENTS:

  • Took the lead in securing grant funding for all of the following projects:
    New roof for salt storage shed, $70,000
    NYSERDA EV charging station, $5,000
    NYSERDA Energy grant for highway department & town hall – upgrades include: LED lighting in both buildings, solar array on town hall, 101 LED streetlights installed in hamlets, $50,000
  • O’Connor Foundation supplement grant for energy project, $20,000
  • NYSERDA grant for residential solar signups, $5,000
  • O’Connor Foundation two matching grants to benefit Arkville & Halcottsville Water Districts for purchases computer & new meters, $6,000

WORKING ON BEHALF OF OUR COMMUNITIES:

  • Have initiated exploration of a new backup well for the Arkville Water District utilizing American Rescue Plan funds. If the test well proves potable this spring, this project will enable to decommission the well that requires arsenic filtration. This will improve water quality and also allow the district to realize consider savings on operation and maintenance.
  • Have been the lead in working with MARK Project on a “work force” housing project to help alleviate the area’s housing shortage — benefitting workers and employers.
  • Key negotiator in three union contracts — promoting reasonable budgets that allowed for deserved cost of living increases while maintaining fiscal responsibility.
  • Saved taxpayers more than $200,000 by pushing for additional grant funding for the Arkville Water District upgrade in 2011.

PROFESSIONAL:

  • Full- and part-time weekly newspaper writer since 1981
  • Formed Locust Grove Enterprises Advertising and Marketing in Arkville in 1988

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT:

  • Served on boards of Margaretville C of C and Kirkside Retirement Home
  • MCS basketball coach 6 years
    & Legion baseball coach 2 years

PERSONAL:

  • MCS and Siena College graduate
  • Married with one adult daughter
  • Pastimes include: Renovating old buildings, attending live music shows and competing in the Catskill Mountain Fantasy Baseball League
