Town Clerk:
CHERYL DIETZMAN
I decided to run for town clerk to use the skills gained in my professional life to serve the Town of Meredith which has been my home for most of my life. My roots go deep in Meredith where multiple generations of my family have lived, worked and raised their families. I love Meredith’s clean air and water, rolling hills and abundant wildlife. I’m an unabashed animal lover, both wild and domesticated.
From 2001 to 2007, I worked at the Heart of the Catskills Humane Society, supervising shelter operations and animal care. In 2007, I began work at SUNY Delhi and finished my career there in January, 2023 serving as the administrative assistant to the Chief Information Officer. In this position, I was responsible for gathering information from vendors for quotes, preparing procurement documents, and assuring compliance with all applicable regulations and laws. In addition to these responsibilities, I was the event organizer and planner for the Computer Information Systems department, a role that required strong “people” skills.
I believe my work experience makes me well qualified to be the Meredith town clerk. I know how to organize information; I understand information technology and I am a stickler for accuracy. I can serve as the “public face” of the Town of Meredith and provide accurate, helpful information that responds to the needs of our residents. In addition, I believe I could be a resource for the town council, code enforcement officer and town highway superintendent in organizing and streamlining their workload.
I hope I can count on your vote.
