I’m sorry to say that the Delaware County Democratic Committee has decided to cancel the Fred Cubera Barbecue scheduled for this Sunday, Sept. 12th due to the uptick in coronavirus infections in Delaware County.Dang it! We were all geared up to grill the birds and feast on the delicious homemade sides and desserts… and don’t forget the corn! We were looking forward to meeting our local Democratic candidates and cheering them on. We were craving that good feeling of being in a crowd of Democrats, seeing old friends and making new ones.But there’s no use crying over raw chicken. Let’s pull ourselves together and consider “forking” over the twenty five dollars that we would have spent on the dinner! Maybe even buy a table’s worth of dinners! We, the DCDC, will put your donations to good use in supporting our local candidates for the upcoming November 2nd local elections and mobilizing to get out the vote for Democrats in the crucial 2022 Congressional and State contests. Remember, our local candidates are working to bring transparency to local government, shake up the “status quo” and prepare Delaware County for the challenges and opportunities of the future. Every dollar donated will strengthen their chances to prevail at the polls. Donations will be used for yard signs, mailings, ads and other campaign related expenses. It takes some guts and some grit to run against the County’s entrenched Republican power structure. Let’s show all our local candidates our support. In solidarity,
