Member of Council
Michael Morgenfruh’s work to preserve the ideals of our communities began at an early age. As a high school student in northern New Jersey, Michael founded the Nature in Clifton Club, which was responsible for planting much-needed street-trees in his hometown’s urban neighborhoods. This is an initiative whose results are still felt to this day. After graduating college, Michael began work as a Site Development Coordinator and Entitlements Manager for SBLM Architects where he oversaw client interactions with all facets of local government on a daily basis – from the Department of Buildings to local fire departments to the Landmark Preservation Commission – and he has an acute understanding of how to create a harmonious relationship between residents and their local leaders. Simultaneously, his volunteer work with the non-profit organization Civitas was dedicated to improving the quality of life throughout all of New York City’s neighborhoods through smart planning. If elected to the Meredith Town Council, Michael will use these skills and interests to benefit the Town of Meredith, the place he calls home. Michael has a degree in Political Science from Montclair State University, and he currently works as a real estate agent for both Frank Lumia Real Estate Plus in Delhi/Margaretville and Sotheby’s International Realty.
