Join us and bring your friends to the fifth annual Soapbox Social on Sunday, August 23rd from noon to 3pm in Margaretville.
This free admission, family friendly event provides free ice cream, actual speaker’s soapbox and an opportunity for Democrats, Progressives, Independents and the Dem Curious from throughout the county an beyond to gather and talk with each other and with candidates. Featured speakers and candidates speaking this year include:
- Jay Jacobs NYSDC Chair
- Michele Frazier for NY State Senate 51
- Janet Tweed for NY Assembly 102
- Tom O’Brien for Town of Roxbury Supervisor
- Jonathan Kilday for Town of Hamden Supervisor
- Bernard Cohen Western Catskills Indivisible
Back by popular demand will be live rock music by Sue’s Garage, home baked treats (silent auction and/or donation options) and donor gifts including Rural Dem T-Shirts. The NEW MENU this year will feature home made chili (regular and vegetarian) by Kitchen Cheetah.
We encourage attendees to set up a personal ActBlue account in advance to facilitate speedier purchase and donation transactions via cell phone.
Western Catskills Indivisible have been invited to put up their tent at our Soapbox Social. They will be offering Unaffiliated voters a space to share conversations on issues they care about. Be ready to share your thoughts on issues with them and share your thoughts on “Why I am voting in 2026” with us.
