Hello Resisters!
We have a suggestion for how to spend your June 14. Join us at 1pm for an extra special DC Resisters guest: Will Westmoreland.
Westmoreland is the founder and executive director of Back Forty Action, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering rural Americans through advocacy, grassroots organizing, and storytelling. Through this work, he focuses on elevating rural voices in national policy conversations, particularly around healthcare, education, and agriculture. He also leads The Back Forty Media, highlighting the experiences of people who sustain rural communities.
Will is a Missouri-born farmer, political strategist, and advocate for rural communities. Raised in southwest Missouri, he grew up immersed in the rhythms of rural life, an experience that continues to shape his work. After a childhood farm accident left him with limited use of his left arm, Westmoreland developed a lasting commitment to improving safety and opportunity in rural America.
He spent decades in political organizing and strategy, beginning with the Clinton-Gore campaign and later founding Highlander Political Strategies, where he worked with Democratic candidates, labor organizations, and nonprofits focused on working families.
A farmer, father, and longtime political advocate, Westmoreland continues to center his efforts on strengthening and revitalizing rural America. Don’t miss this one!
Save the date, keep an eye open for the registration link as we get closer to the date… and plan to come!
DC Resisters are virtual rallies held via Zoom to discuss ways to resist. Rallies are held every alternate Sunday at 1pm. Registration required. Some weeks we have fascinating guests, other weeks, it’s a free discussion—it’s always an inspiring discussion about how we meet these challenging times. We welcome everyone to bring your perspectives, questions, and ideas for a thoughtful and engaging conversation.
Thank you for being a DC Resister. Your feedback helps define our direction forward. You make democracy work.
