The DCDC condemns the killing of Renee Nicole Good, a 37 year old American citizen and mother of 3, by an ICE officer in Minneapolis.
The fatal shooting of an American citizen in her residential neighborhood is the tragic result of ICE’s aggressive, chaotic and undisciplined attack on our communities in the name of immigration control and enforcement. We call on Senators Schumer and Gillibrand and Congressman Riley to step up, demand an investigation of ICE from top to bottom and slash the 73 billion dollars allocated for ICE in the OBBB.
ICE, under the lying, preening leadership of Homeland Secretary Kristi Noem, claims to be hunting for the “worst of the worst” among the nation’s undocumented immigrants. According to Noem, her department is on a mission to rid the USA of criminal undocumented immigrants to protect all of us lucky US citizens. Instead, ICE is sowing fear and fury on the streets of our cities. Kids are afraid to go to school, parents fear going to work. And, on January 7th, Renee Nicole Good, an American citizen, lost her life at the hands/as a result of tax payer funded violence.
She said “ I’m not mad at you, dude.” A few seconds later, an ICE agent shot her in the head 3 times. Immediately after the shooting, an agent could be heard muttering “f……ing bitch”. Our tax dollars at work.
