The next Rally is ON. Please join us on Thursday, July 17 on Courthouse Square in Delhi from 5-7 p.m. as we honor the life and example of John Lewis. Congressman Lewis devoted his life to securing voting rights for all US citizens. Those rights are under threat in the Republican’s SAVE Act, now before the Senate.
Bring your signs and umbrellas. We’ll share the mic with those who wish to speak briefly (2 minutes tops) about the effects of the Big Ugly Bill on our community… our hospitals, our schools, our museums and arts organizations, our public media, our healthcare, nutrition and housing. Let’s stand up and stand together.
A core principle behind these events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.
As the song goes, “Don’t let nobody turn you round”.
